Frustrated by cost of permit

REGARDING Kenneth McNally's letter (Postbag, January 30) concerning filling out a council parking permit form.

His may only cost him £20 for the moment. Our first permit cost us £25 but this has increased each year until now it's £40 a year. I was informed it is a nonrefundable charge, and that the cost is to cover administration only.

So why is it more expensive to have a permit in one part of the city than another? The cost of printing a permit, producing it and delivering it is the same, no matter which part of the city we live in. I truly understand your frustration, Kenneth.

That's one he'll of a charge for administration! They might want to look at out sourcing the administration to India, I'm sure they could do it at a fraction of the cost.
