Site not as popular since centre opened
4:00pm Thursday 6th March 2014 in Postbag
SINCE the Stonehenge Visitor Centre was opened all we have heard are negative reports of people’s experiences when visiting the monument - long queues, extortionate prices for admission, the whole experience a disaster, being able to only spend a very little time actually at the stones. English Heritage has made the biggest mistake in its history – a £27m mistake.
They never listen to the public and always think they know best.
I would like to see the attendance figures since its opening and compare them with the same period last year.
I would lay down big money that the attendance is down on last year.
As someone who passes the stones quite frequently, it is very noticeable that it is now very easy to count the numbers at the monument, whereas before the new centre was opened it was nearly always so popular it was impossible to count them. Has anyone else noticed this?
