I write to thank all those who contributed to our recent collection outside Sainsbury’s supermarket on Saturday March 22 . We raised the wonderful sum of £130.60 which will all be sent to Dogs for the Disabled to train more dogs to help other disabled adults and children.
My own dogs, first Astrid and now Yates, have been my lifesavers and I am very thankful to Dogs for the Disabled for training them to help me.
I know there are many other people who also want and need a trained dog to help them live a more independent life.
My own dog not only fetches items I drop, but also helps me get dressed and undressed, fetches the telephone and other items, pulls open doors and gates, presses traffic control buttons, jumps up to shop counters to pass over my money and more.
Without him I would loose all my independence. He has restored my independence and confidence and I know other people are waiting for a trained dog to help them.
With your help we can do this.

May I thank most sincerely Robert - the ambulance car driver who stopped and treated me when I fell in Fisherton Street on Saturday - and Annette of the Flamingo restaurant who let me sit and recover for as long as I wished.
I am most grateful to both of them for their help and kindness.
