ON Thursday, I had the pleasure of admiring the prospect of our new market square on a beautiful sunny day, with its trees just coming into leaf; the ample provision of new seating; new lighting and many people sitting outside cafés enjoying the day.

The only thing missing was around 50 cars cluttering up the whole place and spouting petrol and diesel fumes.

That undoubtedly would have enhanced the urban landscape hugely.
