I write regarding the Old School Hall (formerly Church Hall) in College Road, Durrington.
Could I bring to your attention that anyone who hires the hall and uses the toilet is clearly visible to anybody in my adjoining property if the window is left open?
Despite my attempts to sort the problem out amicably and a letter from the Bishop’s office dated April 23, 2013 stating that the window would be fixed shut, these instructions have not been carried out. I was surprised to come home one day this year to find both windows open.
I apologise to anyone using this facility but unfortunately I am only a few feet away.
I recently send a photograph showing the situation to the Bishop’s office and have had no response.
However, a letter from Rev Zammit on April 5 states that the window is legal and notices have been put up to stop the window being opened.
I have pointed out both to the vicar and the bishop that this is not a legal issue but and issue of decency and security.
I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, a venue, especially Church property, can be hired out with people unwittingly being exposed to anyone in my garden.
Martin Grinter, Durrington
