TRAHAN Nicola 1926-2024 MBE, Croix de Guerre with palm, and La Médaille de la Reconnaissance française (the latter two awarded for her work with the French Resistance). A member of SOE (her parachute wings were awarded to her, somewhat belatedly, in 2018) has died, peacefully at home, 18th January 2024. After the war a member of SSAFA the Soldiers', Sailors', and Airmen's Families Association for 50 years, first as a uniformed member of its Nursing Service, then as a case worker. For 28 years Nicola was a volunteer at Salisbury Cathedral and an active member of her local parish church. Body donated to science. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday 14th March, at St Mary's Church, Orcheston. No flowers, by request. Donations, if desired, to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance or Salisbury Hospice. xxxxx
