Cycling pair to raise money for hospital
AN adventurous couple from Salisbury will put on their helmets, get on their bikes and set off on a 500-mile cycle ride through France on Saturday.
Sonja Barnfield-Hall and Harry Hall are taking part in this year's Vélo Ventoux bike ride to raise money for Southampton General Hospital.
They were inspired to cycle for the hospital's charity after one of Sonja's colleagues, Chris, was left fighting for his life from a severe head injury in intensive care last year.
Sonja said: "Chris owes his life to the amazing work done at Southampton Hospital and we wanted to help raise money so that they can continue to care for other people in the same way."
The seven-day ride covers 500 miles and climbs more than 12,000 metres from its starting point in Lyon to its finish in Nice on May 17.
