Parents advice day at Guildhall
PARENTS who are thinking about returning to work can get help and advice at an information day being held at The Guildhall today.
The Parents Advice and Information Day, organised by Salisbury Jobcentre Plus, will be bringing specialists in many fields under one roof offering on-the-spot advice on childcare, benefits and jobs.
Kate Thornton, lone parent adviser at Salisbury Jobcentre Plus, said: "Many parents want to work but are uncertain of where to start. They can feel overwhelmed with worries about finding suitable childcare or even ending up worse off. We can do calculations to show parents how much cash they will end up with, including Tax Credits and other benefits.
Many parents say that when they start work, not only are they better off, they also feel proud to be a great role model for their kids."
There's no need for an appointment on the day, just drop in to The Guildhall between 10am and 3pm.
