Injured mare left at roadside
A BADLY injured bay mare was left by a hit and run driver, beside the road on the B3056 at Denny
Corner in the New Forest last Wednesday without reporting the accident to police.
The injured animal was found at 8am.
Agister Robert Maton attended the scene and had to put the pony down.
The Verderers give rewards to people providing information leading to the conviction of hit-and-
run motorists who injure or kill Forest livestock.

Perhaps our insurers could help with these incidents, it would be a useful contribution to the local community for those based in the area.
After all the vehicle is most likely to need repair, and questions should be asked as to the cause
