Youngsters clean up woods
A GROUP of litter pickers from Larkhill aged 13-16 gave the nearby woods a good spring clean, as part of the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust's Litter Awareness Campaign.
The driving force behind the event was keen environmentalist 14-year-old Joe Mulvany, who said: "It was horrible to see all the stuff that the animals have to cope with. We found hub caps, bottles, cans, toys, plastic bags, a football, tyres and a loads of bagged but not binned dog poo.
"We were really worried that slow worms and other animals would crawl into cans and not be able to get out again. And they would get cut on all the broken glass."
The group ended up filling six large bin bags with rubbish in just half an hour.
