ARCHAEOLOGIST and TV presenter Julian Richards headed to Hindon Primary School to give the children a lesson in ancient times.

The Meet the Ancestors presenter helped pupils with an archaeology topic, making clay pots and baking them in a fire pit in the school grounds.

He also visited Stonehenge with the youngsters, where the children took part in drama and music activities, and helped them reconstruct a model of a Bronze Age round house using ancient techniques of willow weaving, wattle and daub and thatching.

The children's work will be displayed in Salisbury Museum later this year.
