Kick Racism Out of Football campaign comes to Wiltshire

YOUNG footballers from across Wiltshire are being offered the opportunity to play football at a professional ground, in front of thousands of fans, as part of the Let's Kick Racism Out of Football campaign.

Wiltshire Council has teamed up with Swindon Town Football Club to conduct a series of local football tournaments around the county, including Salisbury, during half term for 15 and 16 year olds.

The two most successful teams will then compete in the Kick it Out final during Swindon Town's fixture with Sheffield United on November 6.

Kick it Out uses football as a tool to promote inclusion and challenge discrimination in sport.

Jerry Kunkler, Wiltshire Council's portfolio holder for leisure, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people from Wiltshire to show their support for a national campaign while taking part in sport. The opportunity to play at a professional football ground is one not to be missed and playing under floodlights in front of a capacity crowd will be a once in a lifetime experience.”
