Woman got stuck in bog

POLICE went to the aid of a woman who got stuck in a bog in Burley.
The 58-year-old from Southampton spent two hours trapped up to her knees after taking her two dogs for a walk on Wednesday (November 7).
She managed to raise the alarm using her mobile phone.
Police used a helicopter to try to locate the walker, who was in a remote spot in the Markway Inclosure, off the A35, near Burley.
A police spokesman said officers and Forestry Commission staff eventually found the woman, who was “directed to safety”.
But one of her dogs, a six-year- old Jack Russell, disappeared during the drama and is still missing.
