Fair raises £27,000 for hospital
A RECORD year at Berwick St John Country Fayre has seen £27,000 donated to Salisbury District Hospital’s Stars Appeal.
The event, one of the south’s biggest country shows, took place on September 15 and 16 and featured a record number of exhibitors including vintage cars, bikes, military vehicles, tractors and steam engines.
Other attractions included live entertainment, a grand raffle, a traditional tea tent, craft and beer tents and demonstrations of many rural crafts.
Louise Hall, Berwick St John Country Fayre secretary, said: “Everyone is very proud of this year’s event and the difference the money raised will make to many departments across Salisbury District Hospital.”
Plans for the next Berwick St John Country Fayre, set to take place on September 13 and 14, are already well underway.
