YOUNG people have been hard at work clearing an overgrown garden space so it can be enjoyed by a village community.

Members of Wiltshire Council’s youth development service have been working in all weathers in Bowerchalke through the Sowing Seeds leisure credit scheme.

The group, led by Jaki Farrell and Mark Holden, were able to see the fruits of their work at the opening of Carole’s Corner on Sunday, November 4, and were then joined by villages for a celebratory tea in the village hall.

The leisure credits scheme sees young people take part in projects in the community while earning credits that can be saved up for activities such as trips to the cinema and go-karting.
