THE Stars Appeal is offering people the chance to win a new car in its Christmas raffle. Money raised from the raffle will help fund additional facilities, equipment and support for patients at Salisbury District Hospital.

There are runners up prizes of £500, £250 and five lots of £50 in cash and the star prize, worth more than £8,000, is a new Kia Picanto supplied by FJ Chalke of Mere, which is supporting the raffle for the fourth year.

Gemma Heath, fundraiser for the Stars Appeal, said: “The Christmas Raffle is our major winter fundraising activity. “Every ticket sold helps the Stars Appeal support the thousands of local people, and their families, who are undergoing treatment in hospital, so I urge our supporters to buy tickets and to encourage their friends to do the same.”

Tickets are £1 each and are available from the Stars Appeal Bookshop in the main entrance at Salisbury District Hospital and at FJ Chalke of Mere. The winning tickets will be drawn on January 7.

The charity is looking for volunteers to help sell tickets to their friends, family and colleagues.
