PEOPLE across Salisbury and south Wiltshire got into the fundraising spirit for Children in Need on Friday.
Cake sales, quizzes, Pudsey Bear biscuits and non-uniform days were held to raise money for the charity. Among those taking part, were children and staff at Kiwi School, Bulford, who raised £251by wearing pyjamas and holding a bake sale.
Headteacher Susan Raeburn said: “Everyone got involved and we had a really busy day raising money for Children in Need, which was a great success.”
Also doing their bit were pupils at St Edmund’s School in Salisbury. They raised more than £800 by dressing up in something spotty.
And youngsters at Salisbury Cathedral School raised about £160 by filling a Pudsey bear poster with £1 coins , while the catering department made Pudsey bear biscuits.
Leehurst Swan and St Osmund’s schools collected about £200 through a non-uniform day and bake sale.
And staff at Farley Nursery School helped raise £487 by cycling the distance to London and back on an exercise bike.
A Children In Need Ladies Luxury Gift Fayre and Pamper Evening, which took place at Coombe Bissett Village Hall, raised £504.
Organiser Karen Dale said: “We'd like to thank everyone who attended and for their generosity. The evening was a great success.”
Businesses also joined in the fun. Barclays Bank in Salisbury sold a range of cakes for the cause while staff at the Lazy Cow dressed up in pyjamas
