HIGH Five! There was plenty of exciting netball action as children from 10 local primary schools took part in a High Five netball festival at South Wilts School on Monday.
The players, who are all in years five and six, played in a round robin tournament in two sections.
In the city schools competition, Winterbourne Earls were victors with St Mark’s in second place and St Andrews third. In the Sarum schools contest, Broad Chalke won with Dinton runners up.
All five teams will now go on to the district finals where they will play the successful teams in the Trafalgar schools tournament.
Year 10 sports leaders from South Wilts umpired the matches and handed medals and certificates to the winners.
Sports co-ordinator at South Wilts Jo Hole, who organised the festival, said: “There was a very high standard of play – I was very impressed.”
