POLICE in Salisbury are trying to locate the owners of a number of items which are believed to have been stolen.

A large amount of silverware, jewellery boxes and a distinctive Queen Victoria medal fob were recovered from a property in Salisbury following the arrest of a 29-year-old local woman.

She was arrested on suspicion of fraud and released on bail pending further inquiries. There are believed to be a number of victims and a full gallery of the items will be available at wiltshire.police.uk.

DC Dave Ridler said: “The nature of the items suggests that they may belong to elderly people or are perhaps family heirlooms and I would encourage people to check they don’t have any missing at home.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has any information that could assist my investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Ridler at Salisbury CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
