SALISBURY’S Christmas lights switch-on event has been scaled back in the light of bad weather conditions being forecast for this evening.
The city council has decided to go-ahead with the event, but entertainment will be on the Guildhall steps rather than on a stage with a big screen.
The fireworks are still scheduled to take place at the moment but the council may be forced to rethink this later in the day.
The revised schedule is:
6pm – Local band These Days will do an acoustic set
6.20pm – Spire FM talent winner singer
6.50pm – Blessing Canon Mullally
6.52pm – Mayor of Salisbury speech
6.55pm – X Factor District 3 live on Guildhall steps
7pm – Countdown to lights switch on
7pm – Fireworks TBC
7.05pm – Show end
