CHILDREN at Woodlands School in Bemerton Heath got to sample a range of food during a special afternoon to mark vegan month.
Organised by Dot Drake, a volunteer at Bemerton Heath Centre, the vegan tea sought to raise awareness of an animal-free diet and way of life.
The Woodlands School Choir entertained local residents at the centre by singing some autumn songs before joining residents for the afternoon tea.
Mrs Drake said: “We had lots of different kinds of sandwiches and cakes, sausage rolls and quiche, all with meat and dairy alternatives.
“I wanted to show that the food vegans eat is like the food everybody else eats but with an important difference. Everyone really enjoyed it.”
