A PUNCH and kick session run by a martial arts group in Amesbury helped raise £1,000 for the Spurgeon’s Five Wishes Children’s Centre.
The sponsored event, organised by Aspire Martial Arts, saw 24 participants, in groups of four or five, kicking 2,012 times. The funds raised will go towards improving a sensory room at the children’s centre.
Andrea Gray, centre coordinator, said: “It was brilliant to see so many people getting involved and helping us raise such a great amount for a room which will make such a difference to so many children – thank you to everyone involved and to all those who sponsored them.”
Sensory rooms offer a multi-sensory experience to stimulate and/or calm children. For more information about Five Wishes Children’s Centre in Kitchener Road, or to book the sensory room, call 01980 677218.
