FUNDRAISERS in Wilton are celebrating more than 50 years of raising money for Cancer Research UK.
The Wilton Fundraising Committee began in 1962 and has since helped to raise more than £160,000.
Mayor of Wilton Betty Belk and fellow volunteers organise four events each year including a spring jumble sale, summer supper party, an autumn bizarre and a Christmas coffee morning.
Cllr Belk said: “We all love volunteering for Cancer Research UK and are very proud of our contribution to the charity over the last 50 years. We are starting to think about the next 50 years of the group and desperately need younger volunteers to ensure our good work continues.”
Anyone who would like to get involved in the group can contact maria.gomez@cancer.org.uk or call 07918 196031.
