SALISBURY’S MP John Glen reopened St Francis Church Hall at a special service at the weekend.
The hall had to be closed for refurbishment following a fire in June last year and people came along to celebrate its re-opening at a ceremony held on Sunday.
The refurbished hall is used as a youth centre, for Ladybirds Pre-School and a Guide hall and a community meeting room.
The church also has plans in the near future to create an outside sports area and to extend the building with a large community room.
Reverend Paul Taylor said: “We had a great turn out, which made the day a real success.
“The church has been a centre for the local community and we want to continue and develop.”
