Woman assaulted in city centre
2:50pm Tuesday 11th December 2012 in News By Hannah White
POLICE are seeking information after a young woman was assaulted on Remembrance Sunday.
The woman, in her early 20s, was walking along the riverside footpath from the city centre towards Waitrose with her three-year-old child when she was approached by a man.
The man, who was in his early 20s and wearing a red top, subjected her to verbal abuse before slapping her face and then walked off towards the city centre.
PC David Whitby said: “This was an unprovoked assault on a young mother which caused both her and her three-year-old to become upset.”
Any witnesses are asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101, quote crime number 54120107141 and ask for information to be passed to PC Whitby.
