A BANJO player who was a familiar face around Salisbury has died at the age of 46.
Dave Hum, who regularly busked in Salisbury and the surrounding area over the last 30 years, died from cancer on November 14.
He played a banjo and a classical guitar and he was a member of jazz band Street Level, and more recently Irish Celtic and bluegrass folk band The Huckleberries. Mr Hum moved to Salisbury six years ago with his wife and three daughters who say he will be remembered as “a highly talented and inventive musician, though always humble” and “a real gentleman with time for everyone”.
His website, davehum.com, is still being run for those who want to hear his music, read the tributes that have been posted or buy the two CDs he recorded.
