Children enjoy £35,000 play area
12:00pm Thursday 13th December 2012 in News
Councillor Lucy Clark, chairman of East Dorset District Council, cuts the ribbon to open the new play area at Woodlands along with representatives of Knowlton Parish Council, Synergy’s Zone 10 Panel and members of the community.
Children in Woodlands are enjoying a newly-refurbished state-of-the-art play area in New Road.
The facility includes an aerial runway, basketball and football provision, a viking climber and slides and a group swing as well as toddler swings and springy animals, and an agility climber.
The interconnecting footpaths allow for better access to what was a boggy site. There is also new fencing, gates, seats and litter bins.
East Dorset District Council, Knowlton Parish Council, Synergy Housing, East Dorset Community Fund and Dorset Community Foundation clubbed together for the £35,000 refurb.
