SARUM Morris has been sending season’s greetings to pub patrons in local villages.

Morris dancers from the group put their dancing shoes aside at this time of year and get into the Christmas spirit by performing traditional mummers’ plays in village pubs around Salisbury.

Last week they performed their short play, a ridiculous tale of King George and Father Christmas, at the Fox & Goose in Coombe Bissett, the Yew Tree Inn at Odstock and the Radnor Arms at Nunton.

The plays are rarely performed these days but Sarum Morris has been keeping the tradition alive for the past 30 years.
