BUSINESSMAN Mark Kidner has raised money for Save the Children by trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest.
Mr Kidner, a director of WSB Property Management in Salisbury, spent 19 days in Nepal last month to raise £390 for the charity, which he has supported on sponsored walks before.
The trip was organised by Discover Adventure in Coombe Bissett and included two days in Katmandu, a trip to a monkey temple and then the trek to Everest base camp.
Mr Kidner said: “The trek was stunning; it involved breath-taking scenery. The altitude tested us a lot, there were high winds causing avalanches and landslides but luckily quite a way from us.
“The whole area is rich with stories of epic climbs, death and survival and is completely different to anything we had experienced before.”
