CHILDREN, staff and governors at Broad Chalke Primary School said a fond farewell to two members of staff at the end of term.
Margaret Pearson has retired after ten years as headteacher and Neil Mawdsley has left to take up a new post as headteacher of Amesbury Archer Primary School.
When Mrs Pearson was appointed, the school was a first school with 123 pupils and during her time there it has made the transition to primary status with 195 pupils currently on roll. Earlier this year, Ofsted judged the school as outstanding.
Mr Mawdsley is passionate about developing sporting opportunities for children and has coached numerous successful teams, taking cricket teams to national finals on several occasions.
