TWO local groups have been singing Christmas carols to raise money for the Stars Appeal.
Twenty children from Year 3 at Harnham Junior School entertained patients, visitors and staff at Salisbury District Hospital last month, singing a selection of traditional and modern Christmas carols in the main entrance. They raised more than £130 for the Stars Appeal through a collection.
The Kerala community in Salisbury held their Christmas carol concert on December 20 and also decided to raise money for the hospital’s charity as the Salisbury Malayalee Association has adopted the Stars Appeal as its charity.
Association patron Jose Antony presented a cheque for £180, raised during the concert, to Gemma Heath of the Stars Appeal.
