FLOWER fans can enjoy a special visit to Salisbury Cathedral this year.

The cathedral has introduced new Cathedral Flowers tours aimed specifically at those who enjoy flowers and flower arranging.

The tours will include a short visit to the Cathedral floor with its flower-themed architecture and windows, a specialist talk about cathedral flowers and a demonstration of an arrangement suitable for a cathedral or church. They may also get to visit the cathedral’s cutting garden.

The tour is hosted by members of the cathedral’s flower team headed by its creative director Michael Bowyer, an internationally renowned floral judge, demonstrator, teacher and Chelsea Gold Medallist, along with Susan Branch, who works closely alongside him.

Marketing director David Coulthard said: “The flowers at Salisbury Cathedral have become a real feature in recent years, and with the success of our two recent flower festivals more and more people have been taking an interest. “With such a talented and enthusiastic team featuring a Chelsea Gold Medal Winner in the shape of Michael Bowyer, this is something we know we can do really well.”

Places on the tour can be booked by contacting Hannah Paye by on 01722 555120 or at groups@salcath.co.uk. Tickets cost £100 plus £8 per person for groups of 10 or more.
