AN animal charity is urging pet owners to be cautious in adverse weather conditions.

As snow and ice is set to hit Salisbury, the Dogs Trust is asking dog owners to take extra care of their pets.

Chief executive Clarissa Baldwin said: “Remember to keep your dog on a lead if it’s snowing and don’t let your dog walk on frozen ponds. “If your dog does fall through the ice never be tempted to go after him but encourage him to swim back to you.”
