A LARGE congregation attended Salisbury Cathedral’s Epiphany Procession on Sunday.
The service was the third and final of the cathedral’s popular processional services celebrating Advent, Christmas and Epiphany.
Tom Clammer, Canon Precentor, said: “The Salisbury Epiphany Procession is a distinctive rite, not least because we physically journey ‘from the East’, beginning at the high altar and making our way westwards, pausing at the crib, the nave altar, the font and the Christmas tree before journeying out into the night through the great West Doors.”
The girl choristers and lay vicars - directed by David Halls, sang music by Mendelssohn, Messiaen, Poulenc and Tavener. The organist was John Challenger.
