A STATUE of a cat has been stolen from a house in Salisbury.

The stone ornament, which has a mouse at its feet, is about 60cm tall and worth about £80.

It was taken from the front porch of a house in Castle Road between 2pm on Thursday, January 3 and 5.30pm on Friday, January 4.

Police Community Support Officer Nicola Clark said there here have been several similar incidents in the Downsway and Harnham area over the past few months and police would like to hear from anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area or who has been offered stone statues such as this for sale.

Anyone with information can contact PCSO Clark on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
