THE winner of the Stars Appeal Christmas raffle has been presented with her prize car.
Sheila Hawley, from Shaftesbury, bought her tickets for Salisbury District Hospital’s appeal in recognition of the “second to none” care received by her husband, who has arthritis.
She said: “I never win raffles, but I always buy the Stars Appeal raffle tickets. It’s a great hospital, and every member of staff is always so kind and helpful. I want to support it, and contribute to the extra comforts and the projects around the hospital that the Stars Appeal funds.
“My husband is over the moon that he will be able to start driving again – it will make such a difference to us both.”
The Kia Picanto was donated to the raffle by FJ Chalke of Mere, the fourth year running that the firm has donated a car to the appeal.
