Pedestrian killed in Whiteparish

A PEDESTRIAN has died following a collision with a car on the A36 in Whiteparish.
The accident involving a car and a pedestrian happened shortly before 5pm near the junction with Brickworth Corner.
Wiltshire Police and Great Western Ambulance Service sent immediate response vehicles but the man, who has not yet been named, had already died when they arrived.
Emergency services are at the scene and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours while police investigate.
Local diversions are in place and drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Cars generally need to have a driver, and there must therefore have been another party involved. Did they run away? Have the Police charged or cautioned them? Was this a runaway car?
