DVD rental firm Blockbuster will keep its Salisbury shop open despite announcing plans to close 129 stores nationwide.
Administrators Deloitte were appointed last week and the company has confirmed plans to close 129 of Blockbuster’s 528 stores in the next few weeks, in addition to 31 which had already been given notice.
But a spokesman for Deloitte said there are currently no plans to close the store in Fisherton Street.
Lee Manning, joint administrator, said: “Having reviewed the portfolio with management, the store closure plan is an inevitable consequence of having to restructure the company to a profitable core which is capable of being sold. “We would like to thank the company’s employees for their support and professionalism during this difficult time. We are also grateful to the customers for their continued support.”
