VILLAGERS in Hale celebrated Burns Night in traditional manner on Friday night at the village hall.

The haggis was piped in by Jim Wright and Addressing the Haggis was carried out with much enthusiasm by Barry Thompson, followed by the reading of The Selkirk Grace by Doug Gemmel.

Following a three-course meal and Mary Davis’ recital of To a Mouse, the evening was rounded off with Scottish dancing.

The event was organised by Hale Social Committee, volunteers who undertake social activities on behalf of the village, in order to raise funds for the benefit of the village and villagers.

A coffee morning including computer tuition is planned for April.
