TWO long-term residents at the RSPCA’s Ashley Heath centre are pining for new homes and are urging people to take the lead and take them in.
Crossbreed Jet has spent a year at the centre after being found abandoned and tied to a tree, with children teasing him and setting their dog on him.
Despite this he is very affectionate and friendly and loves to play with other dogs.
He is only three years old, meaning he has spent nearly half his life in kennels, and really deserves a loving home, say rescue workers, who have put a video of him on their website to encourage some interest in him.
A worker said: “Jet’s the most affectionate boy who adores tummy rubs but gets no interest.
“If it weren’t for my two grumpy dogs I’d have him myself – I’m desperate to find him a home.”
Three-year-old staffie Gemma was brought to the centre with her friend Tina, and while Tina was rehomed quickly Gemma is still searching for her forever home, more than a year later.
To see Jet and Gemma’s profiles and videos go to rspca.org.uk/inyourarea, pop in to the centre Tuesday to Sunday, 11.30am until 4pm or call 0300 123 0749.
