Co-op staff ready to rock and roll
12:00pm Monday 4th February 2013 in News
Mark Dobb, AnnMarie Willis, Kim Gulliver, Lenny Fisk and Jenny Langrish at Fordingbridge Co-op.
STAFF at the Co-op in Fordingbridge dressed up for a Rock Around the Clock to launch their next year of charity fundraising.
Their new charity of the year is the Carers’ Trust, which formed last year when The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care came together.
The money will go towards tackling feelings of isolation and provide breaks, information, advice and support for 14 to 25 year old carers.
The Rock Around the Clock theme was chosen to illustrate the round-the-clock care given by the UK’s 500,000 young people, who care for a family member or friend who is sick, frail, disabled or mentally ill.
Manager Mark Dobb said: “The challenge of unpaid caring is an often hidden issue, even though it can affect most families at some time.”
This year, the Co-op’s 100,000 staff aim to raise £5million for the trust.
