SALISBURY’S Oxfam Shop has launched an emergency appeal in response to the escalating Syrian refugee crisis.
The money raised will help up to 120,000 people who have fled fighting in the war-torn country.
“We have seen on our television screen the horrors people have had to endure,” said Michelle Fairfax-Selmon from the charity.
“Thousands have fled to neighbouring countries for sanctuary. They need our help. It is winter and the cold is compounding misery for refugees. We’re calling on the people of Salisbury to support this appeal and help Oxfam raise £12million.”
Visit the shop on Catherine Street, call 0300 2001999 or go to oxfam.org.uk.
