Bank robbery in Ringwood
3:50pm Friday 1st February 2013 in News By Hannah White
ROBBERS snatched cash from a security guard delivering to Lloyds TSB in Ringwood this morning.
A man snatched a cash cassette at about 9am and then sped off on a motorbike being driven by another man.
They rode off along Mansfield Road towards the dual carriageway.
The Black Honda SH300 scooter-style motorbike has since been found abandoned at Narrow Lane in Poulner near the slip road on to the A31 eastbound. The cash cassette was also found abandoned and empty nearby.
No one was hurt in the incident but bank staff and the guard were left shocked by what happened.
A search is currently being carried out for the robbers and officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident.
The motorbike rider was wearing dark clothing and a black helmet and it is thought they travelled from outside the area to commit the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lyndhurst CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
