Tyres slashed in Amesbury
9:46am Wednesday 6th February 2013 in News By Hannah White
MORE than 20 cars in the Amesbury area had their tyres slashed overnight on Monday, causing about £4,000 of damage.
Cars parked in a number of roads from Mill Green Road to Archers Gate were targeted from 9pm on Monday. In most cases the tyres were slashed but some people have also reported having their car wheel bolts loosened.
Many had problems getting to work as a result of the damage.
Inspector Christian Lange of Amesbury Police said: “This type of mindless criminal damage has a significant impact on the victims. “Victims do not only suffer due to the expense of replacing the tyres but also have to deal with the disruption caused by the cars being unusable.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
