A BRAVE teenager from Fordingbridge sacrificed her hair to help children undergoing cancer treatment Suzie Douglas was all smiles when her head was shaved, knowing that her black locks will be used to make wigs for children who have lost their own hair.

She even went a step further, and lost her eyebrows too.

The 17-year-old Brockenhurst College student has already raised £640 towards her £1,000 goal for Cancer Research UK.

Her friend Ashley Bryant was given a quick lesson in the art of head shaving at Vinnie’s salon in Fordingbridge, before shearing Suzie’s hair.

Suzie said: “It is very chilly without my hair.

She added: “I am raising money for Cancer Research UK because I feel passionately about the high numbers of people diagnosed with cancer who die from it, and for those people who go through chemotherapy and, although cured, have lost all their hair.”
