DVD and game rental firm Blockbuster will keep its Salisbury shop open despite administrators announcing plans to close a further 164 stores nationwide.
Administrators Deloitte were appointed in January when the company announced plans to close 160 of the retail chain’s 528 stores.
The store in Fisherton Street, Salisbury, is unaffected by the announcement and will carry on trading as usual while administrators progress negotiations with bidders.
The Ringwood store in Southampton Road will also remain open. Lee Manning, joint administrator, said: “We have continued to review the performance of individual stores since our appointment a month ago and have concluded that further closures are necessary in order to restructure the company for sale.
“We are in discussions with a number of parties interested in purchasing all or parts of the business, and will update on progress in due course.”
