Supporting fair trade
3:58pm Monday 25th February 2013 in News By Elizabeth Kemble
A SUPERMARKET in Salisbury is encouraging customers to support fair trade as part of the Fairtrade Foundation Go Further campaign.
Between now and March 10 the Sainsbury’s store in The Maltings, will have a Fairtrade display and various activities will be held throughout the fortnight.
Store manager Gary Gunn said: “We’re proud to be the biggest retailer of Fairtrade products and we’re always looking for ways in which we can further raise awareness to our community about the benefits of supporting Fairtrade.”
Customers can Go Further by trying a new Fairtrade product, or launch a campaign to raise awareness among friends, family and work colleagues.
Salisbury customers can also sign-up to a Fairtrade Foundation petition to call on more support for the world’s smallholder farmers. For more details visit hstep.fairtrade.org.uk.
