Marathon effort for hospice

AN ex-serviceman from Salisbury is taking part in the Jurassic Coast Challenge in support of Salisbury Hospice Charity.

Steve Lawrence will be joined by fellow Royal Signal Corps veterans Dean Buckley and Iain Cushing in the event, on March 22 and 24.

The trio will tackle a marathon a day in the challenge, choosing to raise funds for the hospice partly in memory of a friend who died of cancer.

Mr Lawrence said: “I grew up in Salisbury and know just how important the hospice is. When we talked about which charity we’d like to support there was never really any other choice for me.”
