AVON and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) has won the first ever NHS South of England Best of Prevent award.
The award is given for implementing the Government’s Prevent strategy, which aims to stop people from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.
Mental health is seen as a key area for the strategy and AWP, through its safeguarding team, was judged as having made a significant contribution to implementing the strategy.
The award was presented at a ceremony held at the South West Strategic Health Authority headquarters in Taunton, on Monday, February 25.
