Veterans awarded badges
VETERANS who took part in past wars and conflicts have been awarded with veterans’ badges to say thank you for the service they have given their country.
The presentation, held at Conran’s in Salisbury on Monday, was organised by Tony Boughton, operation service manager for Wessex Care, on behalf of residents.
Mr Broughton said: “As an ex-serviceman myself, I believe very strongly that we should thank and appreciate our veterans.”
The veterans received their medals at a gathering of their family and friends, and Mr Boughton said it was also to highlight the number of war heroes being cared for in nursing homes.
